Bilston Glen rings true

THE police call centre at Bilston Glen has continued to hit national targets for answering 999 calls, according to new figures.

The Midlothian centre answered 96 per cent of emergency calls within ten seconds between April last year and March, exceeding the target of 90 per cent.

Some 115,602 calls were made during the year and an average of 98 per cent of non-emergency calls were answered within the 40 second target.
