Big-hearted runner welcomed to Capital

A WOMAN being treated for breast cancer was among those to welcome a fundraiser jogging the length of the UK.

Matt Wallace is raising cash for Cancer Research UK by running from John O’Groats to Land’s End, and stopped in at the charity’s base on Crewe Road South recently. Patient Lisa Macdonald, 37, met him there as he stops at 15 other centres across the country on his 1500-mile run.

He was also due to film interviews with nurses and scientists.

She said: “I’m really pleased to be here to welcome Matt to Edinburgh. I think what he is doing will go a long way towards raising awareness of Cancer Research UK and inspiring others to take on a fundraising challenge”.
