Big-hearted banker in charity night cycle

A CITY banker has cycled 60 miles through the night to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.

Kevin Boyd, who works for Santander, was part of a team of ten riders who completed the gruelling trip between London and Brighton.

He was inspired to take part after his dad died when he suffered a heart attack.

Mr Boyd, managing director of Santander Corporate Banking in Scotland, said: “I am delighted to be captain of Team Santander in its inaugural year.

“My father died of a heart attack at a relatively young age and we have a family history of heart disease, so I’m very keen to do all I can to support the work of the BHF.

“I had a fantastic time at the London to Brighton Night Ride and really enjoyed the experience of taking on this challenge. I was able to push through knowing it was for such a good cause.

“There was a brilliant atmosphere. It was amazing to be part of Team Santander, everyone was very supportive and encouraging.”
