The Big Freeze: Falling ice damages Tynecastle stand

HEARTS Football Club suffered damage to its main stand yesterday after a fall of ice and snow from the roof pulled down sections of guttering and pipework.

But the club said work was "under way" to fix the problem ahead of Saturday's match against Aberdeen.

"We are working hard to resolve the issues and are confident they will not prevent the game from going ahead," said a spokesman. "We remain hopeful of staging the match."
