Betting error scoops £395k

A DAUGHTER placed a £2 bet for her dad and won him £394,487 after making a couple of mistakes on the betting slip.

Thomas Galligan, 53, originally from Leith scooped the cash after Amber, 22, backed a different horse from the one he’d chosen and selected a non-runner in another race.

Mr Galligan, a former builder’s labourer and father of four said: “Amber is my angel – she and all my kids and grandkids mean the world to me.

“Our first priority with the win will be to buy a bigger place to live and I also want to take them all on the holiday of a lifetime.”
