Bercow eyes theft 'profit'

SPEAKER John Bercow said yesterday he hoped a police investigation into thefts from parliament would prove "profitable".

A computer and iPad were stolen last week from the Westminster office of Keith Vaz, chairman of the Commons home affairs select committee, which examines the government's handling of crime and terrorism.

The theft came just days before the Palace of Westminster prepares for the visit of US president Barack Obama.
