Benefit fraudster sentenced

A TRAVEL agency worker failed to stop claiming incapacity benefit when she started her new job.

Louise Grimley deliberately cheated taxpayers out of more than £4000 over nearly three years.

Livingston Sheriff Court was told that she had paid back just £434 from her benefits at the rate of £25.54 a month in the two years since she was caught.

It will take the now-unemployed fraudster more than 13 years to repay all the cash to the Department for Work and Pensions.

Grimley, 35, of Livingston, West Lothian, appeared for sentence yesterday.

Sheriff Martin Edington sentenced Grimley to be tagged in her home on a 7pm to 7am curfew for 100 days.
