Belarus taps crisis fund for $3bn loan

BELARUS yesterday agreed to terms with Russia on receiving $3 billion in loans over the next three years to help with its deepening currency devaluation and other financial crisis-induced problems.

Belarusian prime minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said at a meeting of governments from former Soviet nations that the money will come from a $7.5bn crisis fund that Russia created in 2009.
