Alison Gray rounds up the week’s most stylish beauty products
Fine hair takes fright at the suggestion of a lustre-boosting serum, but Swell is formulated for those whose crowning glory lacks volume. It banishes frizz and gives ends a sleek appearance without adding weight to hair. Apply to towel-dried hair before styling. The ultimate barnet formula.

If we’re honest we know that there’s still a bit of time before we make it to spring, but it seems just a touch closer with the launch of this collection of six pretty nail lacquers from Crabtree & Evelyn. The range covers the spectrum from pale and interesting to bold and bright. For day we like the neutral tones of Almond, but it won’t be long before we’re painting our talons in the bright pink of Azalea. Spring forward.

LIFE IS GRANDE
Viva Glam is the Mac range which raises money for HIV/Aids while partnering some of the most interesting faces in music and fashion. The latest collaboration is no exception as the most theatrical of brands joins chart-topper Ariana Grande to launch a matte plum lipstick (£15.50) and a shimmering pink lipglass (£14.50). On counter from 4 February.

On counter next week, two moisturisers from Clarins promote radiance in spite of the challenges posed by too little sleep and too much stress. The night cream feels richer than the daytime potion, but both fight premature ageing with the power of plants, including teasel extract and California poppy.
