Bark in the Park to benefit hospice

FOUR-legged fundraisers are to put their best paws forward in Inverleith Park to raise money for St Columba's Hospice.

The annual Bark in the Park event will see dogs and their owners complete a one-mile course around the park, beginning at 10am on 9 May.

Human participants will receive tea and coffee from Starbucks at the event, while pets will get a doggy treat at the end of the circuit.

Entry costs 5 per dog, and participants are asked to raise at least 20 in sponsorship. Funds raised will go towards the running costs of the hospice.

The Evening News is also running the Buy a Brick campaign with St Columba's to help raise some of the 7 million still needed for a major rebuilt on the hospice site at Granton – see the panel to find out how to give and see how your gift will make a difference.
