Banned driver jailed for fifth motoring offence

A POLISH immigrant caught driving while disqualified for the fifth time was told he’d shown a “blatant disregard” for UK laws.

Zilvinas Adamkus, 37, got behind the wheel despite serving two jail terms for previous offences.

Livingston Sheriff Court was told maintenance managers at West Calder High School spotted him driving in the school car park.

The Polish national, who lives in Livingston, West Lothian, appeared for sentence yesterday. He earlier pleaded guilty to driving while banned and without insurance on January 18.

Sheriff Douglas Kinloch jailed Adamkus for six months and banned him from driving for five years.
