Bank workers digging deep

GREEN-FINGERED volunteers from Lloyds TSB have rolled up their sleeves to help out rangers at one of West Lothian’s most notable stately homes as part of its Day to Make a Difference programme.

Nine bank staff helped clear weeds from the grounds of Hopetoun House that should help benefit the native flowers and insects in future.

Peter Stevens, Hopetoun’s ranger, said: “The enthusiasm shown by everyone at Lloyds was fantastic and their efforts are to be commended. Following our concentrated effort at Hopetoun over three years, the Lloyds team have bolstered us in our mission to bring the invasive weeds under control, which is a real conservation success story for Hopetoun.”
