Band swings with Rollins

Midlothian Schools Big Band is to support one of the UK’s “most respected” jazz musicians at a forthcoming concert.

The group will team up with Dennis Rollins’ Velocity Trio at Loanhead Miners Welfare Club from 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 30.

Midlothian Council’s head of instrumental music, David McLeod, said: “We’re delighted that Dennis Rollins and his Velocity Trio are coming to Loanhead as part of their UK tour.

“Our Big Band members are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share the stage with one of the UK’s most highly respected jazz musicians.”
