Bag snatched in mugging

A WOMAN has been robbed at knifepoint by a mugger who knocked her to the ground in a struggle before making off with her handbag.

The 31-year-old was walking on the footpath between Sutherland Way and Ross Way in Livingston when the armed suspect grabbed her.

The victim was knocked over before the man ran off in the direction of Stewart Way following the incident, which took place at 8.50pm on Thursday.

The suspect is white, in his early 20s, 5ft 10in with skinny build. He was wearing a dark-coloured hat and scarf, a grey hooded top and grey jogging bottoms and was carrying a black satchel bag.

Detective Constable Steven Bertram said: “We would appeal for anyone who may have been out in the area to contact us.”
