Baby diabetes warning call

NEW parents should be warned about the risk of diabetes in their babies, an MSP has said.

To mark the United Nation’s World Diabetes Day Edinburgh Western MSP Colin Keir said it was important attention was not solely focused on traditional victims of the disease.

He said: “Babies and toddlers can be sufferers of diabetes yet many people are unaware of this.

“It’s crucial that we raise awareness about the symptoms and treatments.”
