Award as Lothian kicks the carbon
The firm, partly owned by the city council, scooped the best green large company gong at the Green Awards 2012 through its deployment of hybrid buses.
It is estimated that 208,000 litres of diesel are saved a year by introducing hybrid buses alone.

Hide AdDr Steve Johnson, Lothian Buses environmental manager, said: “We are delighted to be the recipient of this award which recognises our commitment to low pollution and low-carbon buses.
“We have saved thousands of tonnes of carbon and hundreds of tonnes of air pollutants but most importantly we are encouraging people onto public transport.”
