Award for brave Leah
Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon presents nine-year old Leah Grant, from Linlithgow, with the prestigious St Andrew’s Award for Bravery at a ceremony in Bute House.
Leah assisted her mum Grace after she suffered a sudden seizure in their home in 2009, checking she was breathing and calling 999.
She was joined by fellow winner Aaron Love, 16, who plunged into a pond near his Livingston home to rescue two young children.
Ms Sturgeon said: “It is a privilege and humbling to meet these exceptionally courageous young people whose concern for others and actions in the face of danger are an inspiration to us all.”
