Author breaks new ground

WORLD famous author and Harry Potter creator JK Rowling buried a time capsule to mark the beginning of building work at a new research centre.

The city writer donated £10 million towards the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic at Little France.

It has been named after her mother, who died at the age of 45 suffering from multiple sclerosis, one of the illnesses the facility hopes to tackle.

The Edinburgh University building will form a key part of the research hub, which is hoped will attract leading scientists and drug companies to the Capital from all over the world.
