DETECTIVES are hunting two men who attempted to rob an Aberdeen filling station at knifepoint.

The force today launched an appeal for information following the raid last night at the BP petrol station in the city’s King Street.

The two robbers fled empty handed following the incident at 8.30pm last night.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “The first male suspect is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build and wearing a black hooded waterproof jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and dark coloured trainers.

“The second male had his face covered but is described as being 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build and was wearing a yellow high-vis vest, a navy hoody, blue jeans and white trainers.”

Detective Constable Robert Oakes said: “This is not a common type of incident in Aberdeen and we are appealing for anyone who may have information to come forward and help us with our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
