Attempted murder accused in court over pub incident

William MacAuley, from Wishaw, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court in South Lanarkshire yesterday in connection with an incident outside Cross Keys Inn in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, on Sunday evening.

Police were called to the scene after a man, 30, had been knocked down by a bus.

He was taken to Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital where his condition was described as critical.

MacAuley made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
