Artists get cash boost

VISUAL artists in East Lothian are being offered council funding to recognise their valuable contribution to cultural life in the county.

Grants of up to £1500 will be available for artists and craft-makers as part of the devolved funding scheme partnered with Creative Scotland.

The funding awards are available to visual artists living or working in East Lothian to contribute towards the costs of creating new work.

A spokesman said: “Visual arts and crafts development has been identified as a strategic priority within the council’s cultural strategy.”
