Artist Beth's still life story fills gallery

BETH Fisher was delighted to get a seat in front of her work Vigil Series 2, as her exhibition Grisaille Legacy went on show at the National Gallery of Scotland for the first time.

Ten years in the making, it is sited in the upper galleries of the Royal Scottish Academy on the Mound.

The large-scale charcoal drawings take visitors through the artist's family life, including birth, death, marriage, illness and the process of ageing

The exhibit runs to 31 January, complemented by large-scale cartoons produced by William Dyce.
