Mobile speed cameras will be at various sites next week.

They include West Granton Road, the A70 Balerno, A90 Cramond, Muirhouse Parkway, A71 Polbeth, A899 Lizzie Bryce, A705 East Whitburn, A706 Longridge, A899 Deer Park, A706 Whitburn and A71 Briech.

Come along for family fun

WEST Lothian residents are being urged to attend Knightsridge fun day tomorrow afternoon.

Activities will be based at Mosswood Community Centre and playing fields.

Bouncy castles, circus skills, face painting, parent and child football, and magic acts will be on offer at the event, from noon to 3.30pm.

Bags on offer at new store's launch party

THE launch of a new store providing alternative clothing and music will take place in the city today.

Pulp opened its doors at Princes Mall this week and the launch party will take place at the shopping centre today.

Shoppers will be treated to live acoustic sets, giveaways, band signings and breakdancers.

The launch event will run from 9am to 6pm.

There will be live acoustic sessions from MakethisRelate, Altered Sky and A Day Overdue.

Revamp walks away with prize

A MULTI-MILLION-POUND redevelopment of the Grassmarket has won recognition at the Scottish Transport Awards.

The city council picked up the Excellence in Walking and The Public Realm award for the revamp.

Competition offers author a killer opportunity

AN Edinburgh man has been shortlisted in a national crime writing competition.

Dave Stevens is one of seven shortlisted regional finalists in crime drama channel Alibi's Search for a New Crime Writer 2011.

His story, Tolerance, is available on the Alibi website and voting is open to the public until midday next Saturday.

The overall winner of the competition will be announced at the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival in Harrogate on July 21.
