Armed police attend Stenhouse disturbance as woman rushed to hospital

A WOMAN has been hospitalised after an altercation with a man at a home in the Stenhouse area of the city.

Armed police rushed to a property on Stenhouse Terrace shortly after midday after concerned locals reported a disturbance at a property on the street.

Officers cordoned off the area around the street, but the road has since reopened.

It is understood the woman’s injuries are not life threatening, however she has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

A 27-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police were called to an address in Stenhouse Terrace, Edinburgh at around 12.40pm on Monday 21st May after a woman suffered an injury during a disturbance.”

“The injury is not life threatening and she has received treatment.”

She continued: “An area of the road was cordoned off for a time whilst officers carried out inquiries at the property and a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, further inquiries are ongoing.”
