April Fool take-off for Stirling air hub plan

YES – as many readers guessed, our story yesterday about plans for a new Scottish international air hub to replace Edinburgh and Glasgow airports was an April Fool.

We reported that Scottish Nationalist ministers proposed building William Wallace International near Stirling, which would include a new Scottish National Air and Rail Link (Snarl). It is true that a nearby site has been considered for an airport several times, but a 2003 study concluded "emphatically" that the scheme would be unfeasible.
