Appeal for return of old family photos

A WOMAN is appealing for the safe return of family photographs dating back to the 1890s after they went missing in Jenners.

She was about to take the photos to another family member to show when she left them in Jenners' toilets, in an envelope within a brown carrier bag.

When she realised she had left them behind less than five minutes later, she returned to the toilets but the bag and the photos had disappeared.

The woman, who asked not to be named, has checked with the store's lost property and the police but the photos have not been handed in.

She said: "Two of the photos dated back to the 1890s and there's no way of replacing them.

"The oldest photos were of my grandparents with an aunt.

"It's very strange and quite sad really that somebody has taken them."

If anyone has information on the disappearance of the photographs, or has the photos, their owner has asked that they hand them into the police.
