Appeal over 6am robbery

Police are appealing for the victim of a reported attempted robbery to come forward.

Police were called to Nicolson Street at about 6am on Saturday, where witnesses reported a man was being robbed. When officers arrived, the man was not in the area.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

A police spokesman said: “We are concerned that someone has been robbed and has not reported, so we would urge anyone with any information to come forward.”
