Angus, a white and brown lhasa apso, had taken cover under a works van in Burdiehouse for eight days and nights, to the point where some local residents took exception to his barking and tried to drive him out.
He was taken in by a family nearby who attempted to find the owner through police and animal charities.

Hide AdEventually, one cat and dog home worker recognised the pooch, and the dog was brought back to his owner in time for Christmas.
John Hamilton, who temporarily took the dog in, said: “We were really keen no-one was without him over the festive period. He has a lovely nature and you could tell he wasn’t just a stray.”
