Andy blows in for nursery's Burns supper

YOUNGSTERS at a city nursery enjoyed their very own Burns Supper, complete with army piper – even if the noise of the bagpipes did prove too much for four-year-old Ryan Harrison and some of the other children.

Corporal Andy Reid, a piper with The Highlanders, 4th Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland, piped in the haggis for the children at the Waterfront Nursery at Edinburgh's Telford College.

He is more used to piping for troops in Afghanistan and Iraq and said in advance the youngsters at the nursery would be the toughest audience of his career.

The nursery caters for children of students and staff as well as the public.
