Alex Scott makes clean water his mission in India

A FUNDRAISER is heading to India on a charity mission to highlight the importance of clean water and sanitation in the country.

Alex Scott, of Bruntsfield, is to set off next week for slums and rural villages in the Madhya Pradesh region to visit WaterAid projects, for which he and his colleagues at Scottish Water have raised cash.

The 32-year-old, who works in the Fairmilehead office as sponsor on its environmental programme, said: “The visit will get me more involved with WaterAid by visiting communities at differing stages of intervention and through this I aim to raise awareness of the great work WaterAid is doing.”

Scottish Water has raised £1.5 million for WaterAid –which aims to improve access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities – since 2002.
