Airport tax rise threat to holidays

AIRPORT departure tax rises will stop average travellers taking foreign holidays, travel organisation Abta said.

Abta, which represents travel agents, said it welcomed new plans to replace the current Air Passenger Duty (APD) departure tax with a per-plane duty, but the body fears that the previously planned APD rise scheduled for November will go ahead.
