Airport charge 'insensitive'

EDINBURGH Airport has been branded "crass and insensitive" after its managing director said a controversial £1 drop-off charge was here to stay.

Tory MSP Gavin Brown hit out at the airport's managing director, Kevin Brown, after he said the introduction of the 1 charge was the "right thing to do".

The Lothians MSP said: "This is a crass, insensitive and money-grabbing move.

"It is bitterly disappointing that, despite the unanimous opposition to the charge, Edinburgh Airport has gone ahead with its introduction.

"The airport has ignored its own passengers and residents, businesses and politicians from across the political spectrum."
