Air travel chaos: Malinky caught in a web of 'ridiculous' charges

SCOTTISH folk band Malinky are stuck in Denmark, and have been told that they may not be able to return to Scotland before Thursday.

Singer Steve Byrne said that Scandinavian Airlines told them they may not be able to book flights until a week after they flew out for concerts.

Mr Byrne said: "We're haemorrhaging money in hotels and have been scouring car rental outlets for one-way hires, getting ridiculous rates – around 2,000 for just one day for a minivan. A wee bit of profiteering, methinks!

The group have now appealed for help via their e-mail newsletter and Facebook page, offering to pay travel costs for anyone travelling to France willing to give them a lift.
