AIDS drive to ‘focus minds’

A WORLDWIDE awareness campaign on AIDS should focus the minds of those at risk of the disease, experts have said.

World AIDS Day takes place today, but health chiefs are still fearful people, particularly in the gay community, are complacent about the illness.

Public Health Minister Michael Matheson said: “People living with HIV often suffer stigma and we need to address this to bring attitudes towards HIV in line with other long-term conditions.”
