Aegon food plans binned

A BUILDING owned by a major international firm cannot be used to sell food, it has been ruled.

Aegon UK’s Property Fund wanted to change the use of its large-scale premises on Milton Link, by Newcraighall. But the city council and, after the company appealed, the Scottish Government have both dismissed the application.

Planning reporter David Buylla said there were other potential uses for the building.

He said: “A planning condition prevents this unit selling food, although all other forms of retailing are permitted.”
