Action-packed games day for all the family

THE third annual Midlothian Games comes to Bonnyrigg’s King George V Park this summer.

The event is an opportunity for the whole family to try a range of sports, activities and training, including skiing, bungee trampoline, crazy golf, bungee football, bouncy boxing, climbing wall, football speed cage and more. A series of sports challenges will take place throughout the park, including 1km and 3km fun runs and Father’s Day sprints.

Participants can also enter the Midlothian Games events, a series of challenges based on Olympic sports.

Garry Sheret, head of Midlothian Council’s property and facilities, said: “Whether you want to try your hand at an Olympic sport, have a go at bungee football or catch a display from a local sport club, there’s something for all the family at the Midlothian Games.

“Not only is it a day of family fun, it’s also an opportunity for people of all ages to get more active.”

The event will raise funds for Lothian Special Olympics, a charity for people with learning disabilities.

It will be held on Sunday, June 17 between 11am and 4pm.
