Accused 'sneaked in while lover's wife in hospital'

A WOMAN accused of murdering her lover's sick wife sneaked into her home after the affair was discovered, a murder trial heard.

Rita Heyster left the filthy garden shed where she had been living for weeks after her love-rival was taken to hospital to spend the night in the house in Bathgate, West Lothian.

Mother-of-four Carol Jarvis, 47, returned home the following day in September 2009. Less than two weeks later her body, wrapped in a blanket, was found in the basement of the house in the town's Balbardie Crescent.

Heyster, 57, of Ferguson Way, Livingston, denies murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice by dumping the body there.

In papers lodged in court she blames Carol's husband Harry Jarvis, 61, for any crimes which might have been committed.

The trial continues on Monday.
