Academy in UN award

BATHGATE Academy has become the first secondary school in West Lothian to achieve a UNICEF award.

The school was awarded the level one Rights Respecting School Award by the children’s rights charity, which recognises the achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of a school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos.

Headteacher Joe Boyd said: “It’s a fantastic achievement to achieve this award.”
