EFC Group, the Aberdeen-based energy services firm, has teamed up with Siemens UK & Ireland in a move aimed at improving offshore efficiency.

The two companies have formed a strategic partnership to deliver safety control systems for the oil and gas industry, offering condition monitoring to ensure “minimal unplanned downtime”.

Chris McComb, oil and gas account development manager at Siemens UK & Ireland, said: “Because of our work to develop solutions to support companies in the oil and gas industry, Siemens is well placed to stand back, take a holistic view of all requirements and help maximise operating efficiencies.

“Our partnership with EFC Group shows what can be achieved through collaboration to develop a solution to drive tangible benefits for customers.” EFC was founded in 1988 as Electro-Flow Controls, providing drilling and well control instrumentation to the oil and gas sector. In 2009, private equity firm Maven Capital Partners backed a £10 million management buy-in, before selling the business to a consortium of investors at the end of 2014.
