A1 works to bring delays

MOTORISTS are being warned they face disruption as a £640,000 project of road improvements gets under way on the A1.

Work on the stretch between Little Pinkerton and Spott Roundabout near Dunbar in East Lothian is set to begin on Thursday. The work, which is expected to last for three weeks, will see improvements made to the worn carriageway.

Eddie Ross, consultancy manager for BEAR Scotland, said: "We recognise the frustration that is felt by drivers making journeys which are delayed as a result of roadworks.

"However, by maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction we hope to minimise disruption. We would like to thank motorists for their continued patience."
