9am Briefings: Princes street to be closed for tram line repairs

PRINCES Street is to be closed again for major repairs to the tram tracks.

The street will be shut to traffic from the start of July until May next year - including the crucial festival period and the run-up to Christmas - while the work is carried out at the contractors' expense.

But there is still no guarantee that the trams will even get as far as Princes Street.
