9am Briefing: Two treated after suspicious charity shop fire

A CHARITY shop was badly damaged in a suspicious fire.

A nearby resident and a child were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation following the blaze at the Bethany shop in the Capital.

Emergency services were called to the fire in Summerhall Place, Edinburgh, at about 10pm yesterday.

• TWO men have been arrested in connection with two alleged stabbings outside a bar.

The pair, who are set to appear in court today, were arrested following an incident on Friday night at around 10.30pm in a car park in Bonnyrigg.

An 18-year-old man suffered stab injuries in the back and shoulder and another man was wounded.
