86-year-old woman missing from nursing home

POLICE today appealed for help in tracing an 86-year-old woman, who suffers from dementia, who and has gone missing from an Edinburgh nursing home.

Julia Madden went missing from the Victoria Manor care home in Albert Street, Leith, after 4am today. She has not been seen or heard from since.

She is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, medium build, with shoulder length grey hair and speaks with an English accent.

She was wearing a burnt orange knee length jacket and black lace up shoes, and often carries a white handbag, as well as a toilet bag with a floral design. She is originally from London and may be trying to return there.

She is known to visit the Portland Gardens area, and Ocean Terminal, and police are appealing to anyone who has seen or heard from her since she went missing to get in touch as a matter of urgency on 0131 311 3131.
