840 sign up to tackle litter

MORE than 840 people from East Lothian have signed up to a campaign to tackle Scotland’s litter problem.

The National Spring Clean, which gets under way this weekend and runs until May 31, invites individuals and communities to “turn the tide on Scotland’s litter”.

Richard Lochhead, cabinet secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment, said: “I urge people and communities across the country to get involved to help keep Scotland beautiful.”
