5,000 brave cold for Tough Guy challenge

MORE than 5,000 competitors braved the biting cold yesterday on an obstacle course billed as the world's "most dangerous taste of mental and physical pain".

About 4,600 of those who took part in the 24th Tough Guy event at Perton, Staffordshire, finished the eight-mile challenge. Around 600 dropped out before the end.
