40th birthday marathon run

A DUNBAR man is limbering up for a coming-of-age marathon in aid of two charities which are close to his heart.

After learning his 40th birthday coincided with the 40th New York Marathon, Jamie Regan vowed to pound the pavements through the Big Apple to raise money.

"The signs are there and if ever I'm going to drag my 17-stone frame round a 26-mile course then this is the day."
