300 homes hit by blackout

AROUND 600 homes and businesses in the Capital, including Waverley Station, suffered a power cut last night.

Scottish Power said a cable fault in the Canongate area at around 7:30pm had affected hundreds of properties.

Around 300 properties had their power restored at 8:30pm, a further 200 had their electricity returned just after 9pm, and the remainder got their power back at 11:25pm.
