22 months for drugs slashing

A MAN who slashed his victim across the neck because he didn't wish to buy drugs was jailed for 22 months yesterday

Jamie Boulton offered John Downie diazepam. Fiscal depute John Kirk told Edinburgh Sheriff Court:

"Mr Downie was not interested and they had words which led to violence."

Boulton, 41, of Edinburgh Prison, admitted assaulting Mr Downie at Hawkhill Avenue, Edinburgh and breaching the peace at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, both on March 23.
