15 years as a centre of excellence

STAFF, patients and volunteers at the city’s Maggie’s Centre gathered to celebrate the charity’s 15th birthday.

Pictured is the centre’s head, Andy Anderson, along with supporters Elspeth Salter and Izzy Ryan following the party.

The facility at the Western General is special to the charity because it was the first to open in the UK. It offers practical and emotional support for not only cancer patients, but their friends and family too.

Maggie’s chief executive Laura Lee said: “This is a momentous day for Maggie’s across the UK as we celebrate 15 years and 15 remarkable centres.”
