The new restaurant, serving up Japanese cuisine like staple omelette rice dish omurice, has opened for collection and delivery while they eagerly await the easing of lockdown restrictions to welcome locals inside.

Items on the menu include a range of barbeque meat skewers, such as bacon with cherry tomato, ox tongue and rolled beef with stuffed enoki mushrooms.

Skewer options for vegetarian customers include their Corn Tofu Curd or King Oyster Mushroom skewer.

Hope Omurisu also presents an extensive variety of omurice options, letting customers choose from chicken breast, cod fillet, lamb steak or assorted veg - serving each with either fries or fresh salad.

While the skewers range in price individually from £2 to £6, the restaurant also offers these in combo deals.

The Six Skewer Small BBQ Party will get you Chicken Wing, Aribiki Sausage, Giant Red Onion, Pork Soft Bib, Bacon and Plum Tomato and Chicken Thigh Fillets with Spring Onion skewers for £13.

Their larger combo deal offers ten skewers for £22 total - with Bacon and Asparagus, Corn Tofu Curd, Padron Pepper and Rolled Beef with Stuffed Enoki Mushrooms thrown into the mix.

Teddy Lee, owner of Hope Omurisu, said: "We are a Japanese food brand hoping to transport our customers to Japan, even for a short amount of time, with our delicious, modern take on comforting Japanese food.

“We specialize in Omurice, which is a more contemporary dish of Japan, made extremely popular worldwide due to the food's appeal to the digital audience. We also specialize in Japanese Barbeque, with our very own Hope Sauce!”

Lee added: “Our aim is simple, bring a little piece of Japan to Edinburgh, whether it's through our beautiful restaurant (Post-Lockdown) or through the delivery platforms.”
